Solid Notes 2.0: The Text Editor for Your Meetings

It’s been close to a year since we launched Solid, first in private beta, and then publicly in September.

Since the early days, we’ve been listening to the Solid community very closely. It soon became clear that one of the first things we should work on was how notes work. When in a meeting, discussions fly from and to all four corners of the room. Your meeting management tool should adapt to your conversations, not the other way around.
Fast forward to a few months and here we are! Today, we’re excited to announce Solid’s latest update:

Solid Notes 2.0: The Text Editor for Your Meetings

Start writing here

The new Solid interface won’t ever get in the way of your meeting. Just type away as the discussions go. You’ll tidy up later.

Organize

Pick the type of notes as you see fit. This note is actually a whole new topic? Make it a title. That one note is actually an action item for a teammate? Assign it to her. Set a deadline… or don’t. That works too. Couldn’t reach a conclusion? Mark it as an open issue.

Reorder

In Notes 2.0, you can move any note to any place within the meeting without thinking twice about it. Just click (or tap) and slide, and you’ll be all set. Create sections to separate your meetings’ big topics.

Keep track of your action items, really

Instantly change notes into action items

We originally launched action items to let you manage them with your favorite to-do list tool rather than from Solid. While many of you are already using Solid’s integration with Zapier to do just that, many more still wanted to manage everything from Solid.

With this update, action items are checkable. This way, you’re free to use Solid to manage your tasks and mark them as done.
Action items are also more flexible. As you create them, you’re free to decide if they shall be assigned to someone or not, and if they should have a deadline or not. You can also come back to it later and edit all that.
When starting a new meeting, all the action items that were due for this meeting are automatically pulled in to its agenda. Last but not least, your “Action items” menu displays them all so you can easily keep track.

Go ahead and give it a try! Connect to Solid now

We trust this update addresses the very large part of ideas and suggestions from the Solid community. Now, get into that meeting and type away!
